General Commentary and Game Overview
It was 1:50 AM and it was almost time for me to go to bed. Since there wasn't time to watch an anime episode, so I checked MFGG if there was some new content. I gave this game a shot and... I was pleasantly surprised.

Pros -Nearly flawless engine
-good graphics and sounds

Cons -Damage flinch mechanics can use some work
-Some sprites and sounds don't quite fit
-Weak boss

Gameplay
8 / 10
First of all the engine in WCB is excellent. Wario has his trademark shoulder tackle which he can use to break blocks and defeat enemies (enemies have pointy spears in their front so you better bash them from behind). He can also do a ground pound which can annihilate blocks and enemies directly underneath him. Collision detection with blocks is absolutely flawless, I never managed to get stuck into anything and I never found myself breaking the block which I didn't mean to break. What is annoying though is that whenever you take damage Wario bounces uncontrollably for a few second until you can move him again. This wouldn't be such a bother, if there was invincibility time after you regain control. Since you're completely vulnerable after gaining control, it's possible to get hit by several enemies in succession and possibly die. Wario is also unable to crouch, but it's not that big of a bummer. He also can’t stun and throw the enemies.

Now to levels. First level is a tutorial level which first shows how to get past basic obstacles like jumping over a pillar and breaking blocks with shoulder tackle. First level also has a second section, which feels more of a level with enemies. Second level is a kill room followed with a boss. Design in these levels isn’t anything noteworthy, but the boss in other hand is pretty bad. All it does is slowly walk back and forth the room and all you have to do to defeat it is to ground pound on it several times. Make sure you are facing the same direction as it is or you will get pushed right in front of it and take damage. Third level is a rather tedious breakable-wall-maze. You are constantly ground pounding and shoulder tackling around to find walls you can break; but if you knew which blocks were breakable, it would kinda destroy the point of the level. Fourth level is easily the worst. You have to find a floor piece that you can break and defeat whole punch of enemies reapeat the same thing twice more, but the last floor has a big punch of pots to break instead of enemies. You also fight the same boss again.

Graphics
9 / 10
Wario's sprite, while it doesn't really fit with everything else, looks very good. Animation is fluid and glitchless. Tiling in levels is good and doesn’t have any sudden cut offs or other errors.

Sound
8 / 10
Music in WCB is terribly underused Wario Land MIDIs, which don’t sound too bad, but they could be way better. Music changes when you’re near a goal or a boss, but changes back to level music when you gain distance from them. Understandable in goal’s case, but it feels odd when fighting a boss. There are a fair punch of sound effects, which make the game sound very lively. Jumping and stepping sounds, while they sound good, don’t really fit with the rest (much like Wario’s sprite).

Replay
5 / 10
There are only four short levels, but you can always try to improve your hiscore.

Final Words
8 / 10
A game that is rough around the edges, but shows good potential.
