Hey, MFGG. Yoshbert here. I, too, am now part of the quality control staff!

I look forward to seeing what you guys submit, and hopefully (if they make the cut), you'll have the pleasure of seeing your creations on MFGG's hallowed e-halls. Please understand take this into consideration, though: I expect to see nothing but top-notch content from you all.

Here's a reminder: if by perchance, your submission doesn't make the cut, don't worry! We'll give you some pointers on how to improve your work, and you can always try again. Here's hoping for some good times.

Also, be sure to check out DJ Coco's Super Mario Country, which won MFGG's Game of the Month award for July 2014. Congratulations to her!

Ugh, I edited this update spiel five times before I was satisfied with it. I really need to proofread the stuff I write.

Thanks! I'm working on a mega Mario sheet with New Super Mario Bros. Animations, I completed small Mario and small Luigi's animations so far, but I have yet to make more sheets for power ups. I'm planning on making Wario and Waluigi sprites too. I'm looking forward to your suggestions and so on, Yoshbert.

And it's still wrong because Super Mario Country won Game of the Month for July, not August!

:)

The Vinny Ninja came and fixed the month for Coco's GOTM award.

While the month technically isn't over yet, I think the August GOTM is fairly easy to guess!

Thanks for my mention, VibbyVideo Yoshbert!
EDIT: Whoops, I thought Vinny added the mention altogether. My attention span is rather short today.

It takes quite a bit actually.
For one, you have to be able to handle a mass multitude of file formats.
You must be able to judge content in the QC reasonably. (Knowing what to accept, and what to reject)
You must know how to deliver constructive feedback, even on files that appear blatantly bad.
Among other things, this list could go on for days.

I think the current QC staff could improve on this. Back when my sprites were very bad, they were rejected with a message like "Bad quality", without any feedback (except for one submission, but the other 5 or so didn't have that). I can understand it takes a while to write feedback, but it doesn't have to be a lot, just 2 sentences describing how to improve something is fine with me. This was about a year ago, so I'm not sure if it's changed already, but I wanted to mention it just in case.

I know that each submission for sprites, games, and reviews, all take 2 staffer votes to be accepted, or rejected.
I also know that at least one staffer makes an attempt to deliver constructive feedback on rejected submissions. But, one thing that I have suspected though, is that one staff vote will override the priority of the other, sending what may have been intended as a placeholder, rather than the actual feedback.

Lets not get the wrong idea,
I do think that some should be more mindful of this bug, as it would save them a lot of grief.

Yeah, I got a message like "We have this." to a sprite I made. Or "What?" to a rip. I resubmitted it (I know, it's not a good idea but it was a useful rip.) and it got accepted. I hope these won't happen anymore.
