Mario Game Engine (Static/Custom) By: Jess Bowers, Soniro
This is a fantastic Mario game engine created by Ross "Soniro" McKisseth. Ross' original engine was created in MMF 1.5 (also available on this site) and used multiple extensions. For TGF2 and MMF2 users, I removed the extensions and replaced them with builtin functionality.

This engine includes:
- Movement (acceleration/deceleration)
- Jumping
- Coin boxes
- Power ups (fire flowers, mushrooms, stars)
- Enemies (Goombas and Koopas)
- Object physics (stars, mushrooms, etc.)
- Koopa shell physics
- Combos (jumping and Koopa shell)

Included are:
- An .MFA file for TGF2 and MMF2 users
- An .EXE file for those who don't have either of these programs.
- ReadMe file
Target Applications: TGF2 MMF2

I hope to see more of these kinds of engines on MFGG in the future.

Dude, nice engine we needed more stuff like this here anyway (account of the game maker tutorials that we had in the past year.)

Soniro really did do a great job when he created this engine. His programming of the powerups are just top notch.

That said, I've been thinking about combining this engine with Phizzy's platform engine (which has great custom platform movement and slope support). It would also be nice to roll in Pirahna Plants and Venus Fire Traps.

Perhaps we could have one open source community engine containing a laundry list of Mario features - similar to what Sonic Fan Games HQ did with their release of the Sonic Worlds engine (available for TGF2/MMF2). If you haven't seen the Sonic Worlds engine, do yourself a favor and download it.

Anyone interested in collaborating on a fully-featured Mario engine (starting with Soniro's and Phizzy's)?

I'm intriuged by this, however, the most I could do would be to add in basic platformer things, such as ladders, and a couple of other Mario related moves, probably not enough for me to be any use to you.

On the engine, it is brilliantly made, considering I have yet to see a basic fully working Mario engine, not even of Super Mario Bros. Keep up the good work.

Hi, when I was Super Mario, ya'know when you get the mushroom... Well I was him, got a starman, then got a Poison Mushroom and it downgraded me to small Mario although I was invincible. XD If you fixed that, and instead of manually we have to restart the room, and it would restart automatically, I would give you a 9, but I am giving you an 8.2. And, the Luigi is cool.

I love this engine and its polished state, as one of the minority of MMF2 users.

Okay, this is just awful. Everything is just WAY off; Mario's momentum, the enemy movements, everything.

It truly amazes me that you people think Hello's engine is terrible. Of all the Mario engines I've tried, his is the best of them all.
