General Commentary and Game Overview
This was a good remake and revamp of the SMB3 Last Battle.
Now if I want to do that battle over again, I can just jump right into it with this, rather than having to get out the games box, find the game, find the controlers, get the machine to accept it, and play through all of World 8 again. Plus, in addition to all of that, the battle has been improved to be made more epic. (While still retaining that classic feel.)

Pros *Effective remake.
*Still runs smoothly.
*Effective graphic improvement.
*Different versions of the music (helps add to the freshness of revamping it)
*Remake of main fight music is just as well made.

Cons *Too short.
*Zero improvement on the credits.

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
This was a good remake of the final fight. Generally I preferred making sure I got the power-ups beforehand so I would be tall and able to take a hit or two, but this makes for a good sort of single boss rush, having to do it without any chance of mistake. (Which is fine since it's already short) Plus you can try as many times as you like. The only problem is that it's too short. The remake is fine, but it would be nice to see a little bit more of the game remade. Regardless, this is still worth a good rating.

Graphics
9 / 10
A little bit lacking for being brought up to modern look. The battle itself is superb, and most of the graphical work goes into the background, which is just fine, although the part where it's lacking is the credits that were included. I suppose that wasn't really main feature though.

Sound
10 / 10
Excellent! The addition of a Bowser Falling noise was nice too. I liked the explosions as everything fell apart. You even got a remix for the credits part, although, I didn't feel very strongly about that one, but it was still done. :)

Replay
7 / 10
The replay in this is good. "Let's go straight to the Final Battle of SMB3!" Although, it's not the sort of thing you want to do a lot of times again -- mainly the gameplay was too short to begin with.

Final Words
8 / 10
This was good, the game runs smoothly, had some nice additional pieces to the classic it's remade from, and I really see potential with these effects.
I don't know what you're doing now, but you should keep this up! Even now, you could do some pretty incredible things with what you can do here. The only major problem was that it was too short.

You said the game was too short.
But what do you expect? All i have to say, LOOK AT THE TITLE. SMB3 Final Boss DX. It does not say SMB3 Extended or anything like that.

I understand that, but it doesn't make a very good stand-alone game.
Bowser isn't actually that hard to defeat, and the final fight alone isn't enough to have me jumping up and down with excitement to replay it.

For what it is, it's exceptionally good, but it's still not enough to be a perfect stand-alone game. So I stand by my 4 of 5 stars.
