Ok, here's the next version of my Paper Mario game. The new battle system is in place for the first two battles.
There is also a point system in place, where whenever you defeat a certain amount of enemies, you gain more health.
Several glitches have been fixed, but if you see any more, please tell me.

Also, if you see something that you made and you somehow got left out of the credits, please let me know so I can fix it.

Well, It has it's ups and downs, but all in all, it's a really badly edited engine...

Um... As far as I can see the bowser fight is impossible.

I like the concept - an "action RPG" based on Paper Mario. But the engine and boss fights need a lot of work. Some of the bosses are very frustrating, and the background music is way too loud (it must be at 100% GM volume; change it to 60-80%). More dialogue with the Toads and other NPC's would also be welcome. Also, my game glitches up when I hit Koopas and Bandits with the hammer.

The bowser fight isn't impossible, but it just takes a long time to beat. Like I said, the battle system isn't very good. I've been looking for a way to work one in, but it hasn't worked yet.

all you have to do is spam the spin/hammer attack on boss battles.

But to me, this is kinda a mediocre edit of Twinimage's engine. The storyline is pretty decent however.

It's a creative use of the Twinimage engine, but it can use improvement. The scenery, character interaction, and some animation can be better, and the storyline's too much like the original Paper Mario. (Although I do like the Bowser Jr. battle.) For the characters you can talk to, they don't have to be the same type of Koopas or Toads. You can edit them so they are more unique. It'll look better.

I may write a review for this, but I don't know yet. You will once I decide though. Keep working, you'll make your game better. ;)

Thanks for all the comments. If anyone knows of a battle engine that would work well with this, let me know, because i tried to make one myself and it didn't go to well...

There's one Paper Mario battle engine on the MFGG forums, but it's kind of glitchy at the moment. A user named Zero Kirby also has one going; you could PM him. And I'm working on editing Yal's RPG Engine (from YoYoGames) so it's more usable, although it's more of a Pokemon/Final Fantasy engine than Paper Mario.

it seems that someone is or that somehow the 2 numbers got mixed up

MFGG isn't glitch-proof, but Char says he's working on improving the site software.

It's also possible someone's hot-linked the download on another site. This kind of thing is frowned upon, for obvious reasons.

what I noticed was that the downloads only went up by 4 on the first day it was on mfgg, so i think it is some sort of glitch

It seems more of a full game than a demo from how far I've played it. I only got to some bandits in the building thingy in the desert.

I put it as a demo because I still am going to add a battle system and more levels, so it isnt really complete, its more like a beta stage.

I think its good aside from a few bugs in the contact-on-enemies area. Also, if you press "N" You can just skip to the next room.

I didn't have any problems with downloading and this game would be really good if the animation was fixed and there wasn't lots and lots of glitches and by the way, when Peach says "Bowser hasn't been here awhile so I'm getting worried", if you press enter a bunch of times after that there will be like, 5 Bowsers dropping off from the sky.

I found a problem in it. I can beat it in 2 minutes by pressing n over and over again. Is that normal?

Yeah, I was using that when I was testing the game and needed to skip to a certain point and I left it unless someone got stuck because of a glitch. It won't be like that in the later versions.

sorry if i wasn't clear on what i meant. a battle system is the part of the real paper mario games when you touch and enemy and go into a turn based battle. im looking for an engine or "how-to" of one so i can add it to this game.

ohhhhhhhhh, I get it, kind of like in RPG games like Super Mario RPG. Unfortunately, the game I wish I could make is a mouse click Luigi mansion short mini game (but if only I knew how I might make it) but thanks for the explanation though!

This game is sorta good. If you could find a Paper Mario battle engine and remove the glitches, then it would be really good.

Ok, I finally figured out how I'm going to work the battle system. The battles are going to be Super Paper Mario-like.

Were you standing near a sign? If so, I've fixed that glitch and several others.

What do you mean.
the only sense i can make out of is:
After i got a game over i read the letter
again and then i got another game over.
is that basically what you are saying?

He's talking about a glitch in the game, which has been fixed.
