The presentation was nice but I can't say the same for the actual game play. The controls are not comfortable, try using some of the letters or something rather than End for the gas pedal. Half the time I had no idea what was going on because of all the items, such as when my screen went black(it wasn't the blooper ink) or when I turned into a goomba. The karts seemed to turn really slow also, which causes you to go off the track a lot, and especially when you end up a lap behind everyone by getting bumped into a pit before you even cross the starting line.

Alright I will be updating this game some time soon (within a week). [Update finished, now waiting in queue]

What you can look forward to:

Controls: Beginner Controls and Advanced Controls (how they are now) [NOT DONE]
Player 1 buttons will be moved to keypad. (You can play as P2 by yourself btw) [DONE]

Selectable Item Sets: Super Mario Kart, N64, DS etc (So you won't have to play with items you don't like/know about) [ALMOST DONE]

Difficulty: Easy difficulty will be even easier. [DONE]

Bug Fixes: Sometimes crashing after winning a cup [DONE]

Anything else I can think of...

In my opinion it would be better if you just kicked player two off the keyboard completely and onto another gamepad, rather than squishing player 1, who is going to be used more often, even more.

I definitely would have put player two onto a gamepad but Game Maker 7 only supports 2 gamepads which is the main reason player 2 is on keyboard. Also, you can play single player stuff using only player 2 controls so player 1 controls don't necessarily have to be used more often (ie you can play grand prix with P2 and P4 or time trials with P2 if that makes any sense). P2 can also manipulate the menu so there's actually no reason to even touch player 1 controls.

Wow, this is easily one of the best games I've played here at MFGG. I just have one question, what are the Player 3 and Player 4 controls?

This is pretty good but it is hard to steer because the karts turn so slow.

You should add a couple more characters. Is Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi unlockable characters? If not they should be added, they would make a great addition.

damn... I hate when people make the controls to complicated... just make it so you use the damn arrow keys... cuz I can't figure this out for a living hell... :0 I love the creativity of most of the items though! also, I would think that if you made this game 3d, it would be a loads easier to play... and more fun too!

You need 2 joypads. I tried to make the buttons similar to SNES controls. Check the readme for the exact button scheme.

I would have definitely added those two if I had the sprites so if anyone is willing to make them I'll put them in.

If it was 3D the only characters would be the original eight characters.

Good. But I have some suggestions:

1. I've also some good controls (For P1):
S - Turn left (Relative to driver)
F - Turn right (Relative to driver)
D - Shoot item behind
J - Gas
K - Brakes
Spacebar - Use item
Left Shift - Swap primary item and secondary item
V - Change View
Right Shift - Jumping/Drifting
N - Pause Game

2. Battle mode also for 1 player and CPU characters in it. (Also for Match Race)

3. There are also SMK-styled Blooper sprites as racer, and also for Bob-Ombs, Boos and even Mr. L! You can add them.

4. Try to make alternative karts. There is a sheet of Bowser in his Koopa Clown Car.

I think 4 players on the keyboard, with at least 6 buttons each = crazy crowding

Really nice game. Thank you for all that hard work. XD

Only problem I've encountered is the occasional glitch once the trophies are awarded after a cup. Other than that, fine. No difficulty with the controls either, or for player 1 side.

Character wise, I guess Shy Guy and Boo are the only two I'm wanting.

Does anyone readed this?

And, I've another suggestion:

5. You can make your own tracks. Not only those ones of Super Mario Kart.

I'll eventually (after bug fixes in this game) have all the tracks from Super Mario Kart Super Circuit (Game Boy Advanced) included as well.

How fast your computer is (processor speed)... what operating system you run (Windows 95, XP, Vista etc), those details.

This along with the Star Cup thing are probably related... I'll see if I can track this bug down.

Edit: Okay I fixed this problem (will be updated with the next release).

Laptop users should use player 2 controls. I don't know if you'll be able to play 2 players without a joypad though.

Well I don't said you can copy more tracks from other Mario Kart games, but it's fine. I said that you can make your OWN traks ;).
