G&W Remake: Turtle Bridge
preview
By: Mecha the Slag [W]
Turtle Bridge: a game first seeing the light in 1982 in form of Game & Watch. The concept of the game was to bring material from one end of a pond to another by travelling over turtles. The turtles would sometimes spot food in the waters that would make them swim down there - taking you with them if you'd happen to stand on one.
The Game & Watch Gallery 3 remake of the game was slightly different. Happening in the sky instead of the water, and with birds instead of turtles, this game had a slightly more advanced mechanism. Bringing additionally collectable coins and more challenges made the game more enjoyable, harder and more 'modern'.
This remake features a mix between the classic and the modern. In a pound but on seagulls, this game brings a more advanced mechanism - starting out simple; turning out to be a difficult task. If you've ever loved Game & Watch (Gallery), you're sure to love this one.

Beat the challenges to unlock even more challenging features!

You should make Mr. Game & Watch an unlockable character :)

Very, very great game. I like the part where you carry something that slows you down (play the game and beat the 100 points barrier to see for yourself)!

There are a few places that needs improvements, though.

- Gradient transition effects make the player unsure about which places are safe to step on, especially the middle cloud
- Toad can stay on either ledges; this is not allowed in the original.
- It doesn't clear one miss at scores 200 and 500. It should; or the game would be a bit over-difficult.
- Press and hold a button won't make you keep moving like the actual G&W Gallery does.

This game is very good in overall though. May want to review it later.

Also, a question: Does this game feature a Very Hard mode?

It does. At 200, 400, 600 etc. points you carry a heart instead of a regular item (given you have had a miss) to the other edge: if you successfully carry it over you get to clear one miss. If you fail while carrying the heart it'll disappear.

Yes. If you beat the challenge score.

@ mecha the slug

best Remake (Engine) EVA!!!
the movement is very similar to the original g&w game, very good!

you should make an engine

also i have some questions:
would you add a delivery list?
for example:
give peach a Mushroom

delivered: Mushroom x6

i mean something like an archivement

also, i like the enemy deliveries!
oh, and eventually you should change something:
different items, different bonus points, maybe?

Haha, great to see my sprites in a fun game like this. Thanks for the credit, too. And about the whole ledge thing, I think it's a good thing for newer players or if you just need a little breather on harder difficulties.

Ah. I unlocked the more difficult mode.

I take back what I said about the ledge. As the difficulty increases, you actually do have the need of something like that.

This game is just great. I've reviewed it, although I seemed to describe the game a bit wrongly. Sorry for that.

Mecha... your game knows everything. It told me I was running from an archive. D:
