General Commentary and Game Overview
All in all, it’s a decorous game; has its faults but at the same pros. It has a good idea and a lot of potential but it ultimately got too challenging for me to fancy it too much.

Pros +Nice music choose (boy is that SMRPG remix catchy!)
+Nice graphic choice too
+Good concept - would like to see it expanded upon as well
+Engine (physics-wise) seems to have friction, so there’s no jerky/abrupt movement. Also there’s variable jumping

Cons -Screen’s way too small, makes it uncomfortable to play
-Too difficult + one hit kills
-…..Glitch where music suddenly stopped playing??
-The characters move way too slow, there’s not even a run button

Impressions
Gameplay
5 / 10
Ported to MFGG, here is “Mario + Wario” from an official minigame competition on the forums.

The idea of the game is to make your way across in what appears to be a special/bonus stage. Cool thing is you play as both Mario and Wario! You transform between the two characters to combine Mario’s jumping ability with Wario’s charge-dash move.

One of the main problems here is the control. You have to change into Mario using the “M” key and to Wario using the “W” key. I don’t see why they need to be so scattered out. Yes, it’s acronymic, I get that, but I kept having to look at the keyboard whenever I wanted to change characters. This takes the enjoyability out the game because I can’t use the controls easily/swiftly. This in turn leads to a lot of frustration since you have to be on your toes due to some very tough level and enemy design (things got wonky with the Red/Yellow blocks and I even ragequited a few times because of it. I like the idea of the blocks, especially since that thing isn’t used a lot in famgames though.

Graphics
8 / 10
The graphics are pretty good for this game. Although it has some All-Stars-looking visuals, there’s some Super Mario World thrown in as well, which looks nice. There’s really nothing that clashes which is also a plus. The title screen looks pretty nice, and the main game has some pretty designs, like the colorful background and the animated clouds. Only thing that bugged me was the fact that Wario’s dash effect came over Wario himself which is a bit harsh on the eyes because of the blurriness, but other than that, the game’s graphics are great.

Sound
7 / 10
The title theme obviously sounds like an SNES classic, probably something from All-Stars, which sounds good, and the music ingame is an awesome remix of the SMB theme from Super Mario RPG. Albeit, not be the BEST fitting theme for the game, but the song itself sounds pretty great.
The sound effects for this game are decent, pretty much everything is from SMAS (but at least the jumping sound isn’t the overused SMW jump sound) so the sfx are overall good.

Replay
4 / 10
Well sadly, this is the lowest all scores, since there’s really nothing that keeps me coming back. I know that it’s just a minigame, but I wish there were some collectible items or something.

Final Words
6 / 10
Not a bad game! It has some good graphics but it just needs a little work on the level design, and add some things that’ll increase replay value and it’ll be great.

It seems two of the biggest complaints is the difficulty and player switch buttons. If I ever get back to working on a full version of this game (that is, something that isn't mini-game sized), I'll definitely swap the button layout. As for difficulty, I never considered that other people couldn't make the jumps I could. I have really good reflexes, see XD

Thanks for the criticism! ^^

You're welcome!
Sorry if the review was a little harsh/choosy. :p

Nah, it's fine. Tone isn't a problem at all with me, but don't start throwing insults at me personally, although that should be common sense X3
