General Commentary and Game Overview
Another Hello Engine 1 game... That's right, another one. Unlike most HE1 games, this actually has stuff added to it and is a full game. However, that doesn't make it good. The game suffers from the same stuff all HE1 games suffer from, a few of those things being, unchanged visuals, glitches, etc.

Pros +Mario

Cons -Same glitches that all HE1 games have
-clashing visuals in some levels
-same graphics used in the basic engine itself
-same sounds from the engine
-enemy spam (why do people who use HE1 do this?)
-Midis mixed with mp3 (never do this)

Impressions
Gameplay
2 / 10
Well, it's the same old Hello Engine 1 with some very minor alterations. There are some new enemies that aren't used in the basic engine, the game is a full game and not some scrapped/demo, and small things like that. This game doesn't accomplish much else.

The skidding is very slick just like it always is in the engine, and holding both left and right still causes endless skidding. There's also a new glitch that this game introduces: you can actually get stuck in the springboard. If you move towards the springboard and then try to turn after touching it, you'll be temporarily stuck until the code that makes Mario skid runs its course.

The levels are better than some HE1-made levels, but not great. some levels feel like they were rushed, much like HE1 levels do. The parallax scrolling is, for whatever reason, deactivated in some levels.

Enemy spam occurs in some levels. NEVER do this. It's very unprofessional, doesn't increase the difficulty at all and generally just irritates players.

Some areas involve partial blind jumps, and when you land on the platform ahead, you get swiped by a firebar that was moved outside the screen. You shouldn't do this either. This isn't a game of "Developer VS Player".

The gameplay is unimpressive.

Graphics
4 / 10
The same old graphics that came packed into HE1, plus some SMB3 from SMAS, some from SMW , and some more from the GBA version of SMW (why would you use these when you can just use the ones from the original SMW that you already have in the game?).

Clashing graphics are not appealing to the eye. However, for the most part, the graphics stay true to SMB1. If you want to use different graphics, try editing them to look more like they're from the game that uses the same graphical style the majority of things use in your game.

I also mentioned parallax scrolling being deactivated in some levels. I'm not sure why you would do this, and it seems to have also caused a glitch with powerups sprouting from the ? blocks (in one of the snow levels, the powerup was invisible until it started moving. Did you use tiles in this level?)

Sound
2 / 10
The SFX are the same ones that came packed with the engine. The SFX are left unaltered, and I didn't hear any new ones.

The music is also the same, with the exception of the castle and underground music. The overworld and castle music are both the 8-bit original mp3s whereas the underground theme is a midi (NEVER USE MIDIS. Use ogg or a low quality mp3 to save space).

However, I must thank you for not throwing the repetitive Mario voices in. They're annoying as all get out and severely overused.

Replay
1 / 10
I see no replay value in this game.

Final Words
2 / 10
Another HE1-made game. It's easy to play around with, but it is not good for making games, and is more of a poor level editor rather than a good Mario builder. Build your GM knowledge and use better examples/engines OR make your own engine to build a game with.
