Super Mario Battlefront
preview
By: GameStar18
Battle your way through waves of enemies using Mario Kart items! Takes place in a 3D setting. I am always all about making games that haven't been done before so I come up with ideas for something new and unique.

Please read the F1 help file for all game help and info! JoyToKey or any other program that allows you to assign keys to a joystick is completely recommended for two players!

I am open to any feedback!
Completion: Full Game Genre: Action

Yuck, this game is pretty bad. The physics are just plain awful, it's extremely glitchy, the controls are awkward, and the graphics clash horribly.

I was expecting a bit more than this.
The bad stuff first: You jump like you're on the moon, I couldn't figure out how to kill GOOMBAS (!!) which made it impossible to complete the game, using rendered graphics in a 3d game doesn't feel good and even if you select 1 player, the game uses only the half of your screen.

The good things: A nice idea, great rendered graphics (if they are rendered) and the music was okay.

Also, I'd think of a better title for it (was expecting some Battlefront stuff here).

EDIT: Wow, that's a long comment.

Sorry, but this is pretty unplayable, there's like 15 controls.

This needs quite a bit of work for it to seem more finished. The controls need to be less "all-over-the-place" and it should be faster paced. But I would say it's alright. One-Player mode should also not be half the screen.

Wow, I had no idea my game was that bad. Sorry guys! That is why I said you have to use JoyToKey. Me and my friend who came up with it really enjoyed it and didn't feel any awkward-ness from it. I was getting good scores and comments from it on yoyogames. Thanks for the feedback though! I wasn't sure at the time how to make one player fill the whole screen as things weren't working when I tried. This is the first game I have every actually completed.

Trust me, I have much better games planned in the future. If I do ever make a battlefront 2 I now know everything that needs to be fixed and improved. Check out my Youtube account for my other games I am working on that will be better although those are just a few examples: http://www.youtube.com/user/GameStar18

I am in the middle of making an RPG game (not Mario) so I have to wait until that's done to finish the Mario games. Feel free to leave me comments/feedback on there on those games.

Failures are the stepping stones of Success.

Is this your first game?

I have made quite a few games before but this is the only game I decided to finish and release. So yeah, you could say first game. Oh well I guess, you are right on that. Learn from mistakes indeed. Everyone I showed it to and played it with liked it. But I guess everyone's a lot different. I plan on using Unity 3D from now on since that will do so much better with 3D than Game Maker.
