Personally I think Goombella is too big compared to Mario. Maybe what you can do instead is just take the Goomba X (or was it AJ Nitro?) M&L Goomba sprites and just change the face and add the accessories. The scratch head looks too big

The scratch head looks too big I noticed how she looked compared to Mario as well, though keep in mind a lot of the sprites in ML style are not sized appropriately. I wouldn't have wanted to make her face any smaller, just because I feel like her detail would've decreased immensely. Plus just adding details over a base seems a tad cheap in my opinion. Though I did use AJ's Goomba's as a basis of how to go about it.
